Instructions

Row 1. Knit
Row 2. Purl 1, Knit 1
Row 3. Knit 1, Slip 1 purlwise
Row 4. Knit
Row 5. Knit 1, Purl 1
Row 6. Slip 1 purlwise, Knit 1

Cast on whatever number of stitches you like. From memory, this was about 40, and on about size 8mm needles, and worked with four rows of alternating yarn.
