Martin Place Children’s Christmas Concert & Tree Lighting

Is on tonight in Sydney and I am going with my neighbour, Margaret and my two children! Daddy has declinded attending, having gone last year.

It starts at 6.00 pm, so it will be straight home from school, into the shower and into fancy clothes and off on the train with 10,000 other Sydneysiders! Hopefully less.

Justine Clarke from Playschool is MCing with Yo Gabba Gabba, Curious George, Beccy Cole, and the Australian Girls Choir.

The Martin Place Christmas tree is 21 metres high and includes 58,000 LED lights, more than 300 stars and a 1500mm seven pointed shimmering tree top star.

  2. After an afternoon harrassing my youngest to have a shower and be ready by 5pm, a quick trip to Woolworths for snacks and in on the train, we enjoyed the David Jones windows in Elizabeth Street, then went upstairs to the Christmas Cave and talked to a talking Christmas Tree .. http://www.davidjones.com.au/whats-on/Christmas-at-David-Jones#NSW. We then went on the Martin Place and watched a little of Yo Gabba Gabba, before settling closer to George Street and waited for the Christmas Tree to be plugged in and lighted up. Then watched a marvellous fireworks display and had Maccas at Wynyard and then caught the train home! My children were little hyper on the train home, but enjoyed the evening.
